POEM By Thomas Lyimo | ZamotoHabari

Accountability

No one is perfect,

The saying guarantees,

The possibility of someone,

Making mistakes,

But the mistakes,

Should not go beyond the limits.

When someone is mistaken,

He can make an apology,

And continue working,

For the betterment of the society,

But sometimes it becomes necessary,

For someone mistaken,

To step out of office,

So as to end noises,

Which can impede progress.

To release the cake,

That someone used to hold,

It is something painful,

As no one is tired of fame,

And assurance of satisfaction,

Meaning there is no starvation,

As the plate is always full,

Of food stuffs of choice.

You can speak something,

When full of emotions,

Believing to be right,

But after sometime,

You come to realize,

That you were mistaken,

And there is no way,

You can retain the seat,

But only stepping out,

So as to retain your repute.

We need to be careful,

When we speak,

Because we shall be judged,

Of what we have spoken,

We need to remember that,

Words once spoken,

Cannot get back into a mouth.

To accept mistakes,

And be responsible for them,

That a high level of maturity,

When it comes to public service,

And being civilized.

If we need our positions,

Let us be aware,

Of things that can cost us,

Lest us cry,

When the reputation escapes us,

Leaving us in hard times,

Without any means,

To regain the former position.

For every action,

There is an equal and opposite reaction,

Let us be well informed,

Of what may happen,

So that we can take precautions.

Life is being aware.
